- One click puts something like Am · 128 BPM on the clipboard, ready for your track notes.

- Pick an audio file and get its key and BPM without playing it. WAV, AIFF, MP3, M4A and more.
- Tuning offset
- A track cut at 442 Hz still lands on the right notes. The menu shows the offset when it is more than 8 cents.
- Honest confidence
- A confidence ring and a percentage for both readings. When a track could be a major key or its relative minor, the app names both.
Private by design
All analysis runs on your Mac, in memory. There is no server on the other end, because there does not need to be one.

Questions and answers
Does it work with Spotify, YouTube, or any other app?
Yes. It listens to the sound your Mac plays, so it works with anything: streaming apps, browser tabs, DJ software, your DAW, a video call. If you can hear it, the app can too.
Does it upload my audio?
No. All analysis runs on your Mac, in memory. The app makes no network calls and keeps no recordings. See the privacy policy.
Why does it sometimes show two keys?
A major key and its relative minor use exactly the same notes. C major and A minor differ only in which chord the music leans on. When the reading is close, the app names both instead of guessing, for example: C major (8B) 55%, or A minor (8A). On the Camelot wheel these two sit next to each other, so a mix still works.
Why is the BPM half or double what I expect?
Very even loops can read at half or double tempo, because both spacings fit the beat. Open Tempo Range and pick a narrower preset, for example 100 to 200 BPM for fast music or 40 to 80 for very slow material. Auto covers 60 to 200.
Does it need an account?
No. You buy it, download it and use it. There is nothing to sign in to.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac running macOS 14.4 or newer. It is a universal app, so it runs natively on Apple Silicon and on Intel.
Can it send the key and BPM to my DAW?
Not yet. It is on the list. Today you can use Copy Key and BPM and paste the text wherever you need it.
What if it does not work for me?
Please check before you buy. Keybeat needs macOS 14.4 or newer, and the how it works page says what it can and cannot do. All sales are final. But if the app is faulty or does not do what we describe, email us. We will fix it, and if we cannot, you get your money back. Details are in the refund policy.
